With the new year and the CrossFit Open in mind, we are excited to announce our first health & fitness camp of the year! The CFW Open camp is a 5-week physical & mental preparation program for the CrossFit Open. 

WHAT IS THE CROSSFIT OPEN?

The CrossFit Open will be a 3-week ONLINE competition this year that will be held in March. With workouts released on a weekly basis, it is designed to keep you motivated and working towards your goals. Workouts will be announced each week which will test a unique aspect of your fitness. Each workout is designed to include all skill sets, ages, and experience levels in CrossFit. Complete each CrossFit Open workout either at your local box, from your home, garage, park, or any flat space, with or without workout equipment.

Do not let the current situation that we all are facing impact your performance, because the CrossFit Open will be designed to be the most accessible Open competition yet! You will have the flexibility to compete at our local box or at home to accommodate the possibility that gyms may have closures and/or for any other health concerns.

CFW OPEN PREPARATION CAMP

The CrossFit Open has been a long standing tradition at CFW that has been providing a fun, inspiring and fulfilling experience year after year! With the Open coming up this March, we want to start preparing now. This year the camp will help you fast track your goals and be ready for the CrossFit Open.

WHO IS THE CAMP FOR?

  • You are signed-up for TrainHeroic and you want additional training, and motivation to train for a specific goal
  • Looking for more training specific to your goals
    • Strength to get that first pull-up, handstand, or increase your squat, clean, snatch etc. 
    • Learn or improve on your skills – Weightlifting, Gymnastics, Workout Strategy
    • Improve your cardio, be less out of breath during and in control of your workouts
    • Increase your range of motion and feel more comfortable with movements like squats, overhead movements!
  • Looking to shed those holiday/covid pounds, to look better, move faster, and perform better through training
  • You are limited in equipment and you want to find ways to still progress and move forward with your fitness goals
  • Looking to do the CrossFit Open for the first time but you are a little intimidated by competing and want a gradual progression before the competition
  • You are a seasoned veteran and you want to improve on last years performance by being stronger, faster and having little to no glaring weaknesses 
  • You’ve competed in the CFW Open & CFW Games, or other competitions in the past and are looking to replicate that experience in terms of training, competing, and having a blast with the community!
  • You just completed the BLT and are looking to continue your momentum into the new year by continuing off your goals or making new ones for this challenge!
  • You love working out and want more, but don’t have any direction. 

CFW OPEN CAMP STRUCTURE

1. Registration & Intake (January 8th – 22nd)

Upon registering you will receive an email welcoming you to the challenge and prompting you to complete an initial intake form. This form is for both you and the coaches to understand your goals and your starting point. Based on your goals, experience, and specificity you will be assigned to a team. Each team will be managed by 1 coach.

2. Kick-off meeting with your team (January 25th – 31st)

During this time you will have the opportunity to meet your team and coach and discuss your goals, and develop a strategy for the next 5-weeks. You will have your tailored program ready, and handed to you hot off the press! 

3. Camp Start (February 1st-March 6th)

Your journey begins here! Day 1 of camp will be an exciting day for all! To keep you motivated, accountable you will be checking in with your coach x1 per week to discuss your results, analyze performance, and modify next week’s program as needed. Alongside this, each team will face movement challenges designed to help you be prepared for the unknown in the CrossFit Open!

4. CrossFit Open (March 11th)

1-week after the camp is over, the CrossFit Open competition will start on March 11th. For 3-weeks you will see a variety of workouts and as mentioned multiple options of workouts will be provided to suit anyone! Most importantly the takeaway will be that you will be entering the Open both physically and mentally prepared. You will be ready to take on the unknown and unknowable! The Open will be an experience you will never forget and as it will be an end to a new beginning in your health & fitness journey!

WHAT’S IN THE CAMP PACKAGE?

    • A specialized 5-week program tailored to your needs based on your strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Programs will be designed to be an addition to the CFW programming, meet the demands of the CrossFit Open, your skill level, time commitments, and equipment availability…
    • A personal coach will help guide you weekly to tailor and guide you through your training program. This will include check-in, analyzing your results, and adjusting your training program as needed to progress towards your movement goals
    • Additional guidance in nutrition and recovery will be available to those who demonstrate an appropriate level of consistency, experience, and specificity for the CrossFit Open
    • Prizes will be awarded to the winning team based on overall performance. For the winning team, each team member will get their registration fee covered for CrossFit Open!
    • Movement challenges will be assigned to teams, designed to challenge you mentally and physically, and keep you sharp for the Open!
    • Leaderboard competition through weekly workouts that you can compete with your team and others in the camp!
