Hey CFW,

We are doing a toy drive again this Christmas and we will be collecting all things Lego this year.

Many of you know Anika, a new and awesome addition to the CFW community. Her son Finn passed away this year and he was a lover of Lego.

In honour of his memory, we will be collecting Lego for children in need, to spread the love and joy Finn always brought to the Christmas season.

Read on to get to know Finn:

Finn was a boisterous, active, kindhearted little boy who died unexpectedly of unknown causes on August 19th, 2021 just 28 days after his 12th birthday.  He was a fighter from before birth, surviving through multiple surgeries during his gestational period (mom had ovarian cancer) that have him only a 5% chance of living, and being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes right after his 10th birthday.  Finn was a physical beast (size 12 men’s feet at 5’6″ tall at 11!!), and an emotional marshmallow who loved all animals and small children, especially his best buddy Michael from next door.  He was kind and gentle to his brother with autism, and loved nothing in the world (other than food obvi!) more than Lego and Christmas.  In order to make surviving the holidays without his huge presence and heart bearable, as well as to help needy children enjoy Christmas as much as he did, his family asked that in lieu of flowers or charitable donations, that people give a set of Lego to be gifted to a child who might otherwise go without.  The family has already donated nearly 400 Lego sets to the Knights of Columbus Toys for Needy Kids drive, which not only delivers gifts at Christmas, but also provides impoverished kids birthday gifts throughout the year. – Anika

We are thankful for the opportunity to help honour Finn this Christmas. Let’s come together and show some real CFW love!!
